BibleCosmos
Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 5, 2026
The short version: BibleCosmos does not collect, store,
or see any of your personal data. Ever.
Your Data Belongs to You
When you sign in with Google, BibleCosmos saves your Bible reading progress,
highlights, bookmarks, and personal notes to a file called
BibleCosmos-data.json stored in your own Google Drive
account. This file belongs to you.
BibleCosmos reads and writes it on your behalf, but it never passes through
our servers — there are no BibleCosmos servers. We have no database, no user
accounts, and no ability to see your data.
What Google Permission We Request
BibleCosmos requests one Google permission: drive.file.
This is the most restricted Google Drive permission available. It allows
BibleCosmos to read and write only the files it created itself —
it cannot see, access, or list any other files in your Google Drive.
You can verify this on Google's permission consent screen when you sign in.
The consent screen will clearly state what BibleCosmos can and cannot access.
What We Do Not Do
- We do not collect your name, email address, or any personal information
- We do not use cookies or tracking technologies
- We do not sell, share, or transmit your data to any third party
- We do not display advertisements
- We do not have access to your Google Drive beyond the single file
BibleCosmos created
- We do not retain any data if you choose to delete your
BibleCosmos-data.json file from Google Drive
Signing Out or Revoking Access
You can sign out of BibleCosmos at any time using the
Sign Out button in the navigation panel. Your data remains
safely in your Google Drive even after signing out.
You can also completely revoke BibleCosmos's Google Drive access at any
time by visiting your Google Account permissions page at
myaccount.google.com/permissions and removing BibleCosmos.
Your BibleCosmos-data.json file will remain in your Google Drive until you
choose to delete it yourself.
Content
BibleCosmos uses Bible translations that are in the public domain, currently
including the King James Version (1769 Cambridge Edition), the American Standard
Version (1901), the World English Bible, and Young's Literal Translation.
Additional translations may be added over time.
Artwork featured in BibleCosmos is either in the public domain — including
engravings by Gustave Doré (1866) and works by other historical artists — or
is original artwork created for BibleCosmos. No copyrighted content is used.
Children's Privacy
BibleCosmos does not knowingly collect any information from children under
the age of 13. The app contains no user accounts, no data collection, and no
advertising. All Bible content is appropriate for all ages.
Changes to This Policy
If this privacy policy changes in any material way, we will update the
"Last updated" date at the top of this page. Because BibleCosmos collects
no personal data, changes are expected to be minimal and will only reflect
additions to features or content.
